Extra Curricular Activities
The School’s broad curriculum offer reflects its commitment to developing the whole child.
Currently the school offers the following:-
French
All Key Stage 2 children are having additional French lessons during school time
Swimming
All Key Stage 2 children have had lessons in school time at Heywood Baths. 80% of all our KS2 children can swim at least 50 metres.
Inter Schools Sport
The school is engaged in inter schools football, netball, swimming and cross country competitions where up to 100 children represent the school.
PE Provision
Our Sports Leader Mrs Pennels works with the children in PE & Games and other sporting activities at lunchtimes and after school.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
A lot of time and effort has been put into organising these 'After School Clubs' for our children to enjoy, relax and improve their social skills. Parents must understand that children are expected to show the highest respect to all the coaches who carry out these clubs. Please pick up your children punctually from these clubs as coaches/staff have to be in other places once these activities finish. Please understand that children whose behaviour is unacceptable in school will be no longer considered for future clubs.
However I look forward to an exciting time for all our pupils engaged in these events and hope it will be a great benefit to their future enjoyment of these activities.
The After School clubs for the Autumn term 2018 are as follows:-
Monday - Football After School Club
Monday - Happiness Club (Autumn 2)
Tuesday - Netball After School club
As part of the extended schools network St Thomas More signposts parents to other activities organised by outside agencies. The list below cover some of these opportunities:-
